What’s better than a grilled cheese sandwich? Gooey, melted cheese on the inside, crispy bread on the outside, I’m sure we can all agree on that, right? While you would think a staple like the grilled cheese sandwich wouldn’t be up for debate…oh you would be wrong. Just this morning I learned that there is a right and a wrong way of putting cheese in the bread, and furthermore that you can put cheese on the OUTSIDE. Mind. Blown.
And I hate to say it but the more I hear Brian talk about grilled cheese sandwiches and his opinions on them, the more I realize that I am a bit of a grilled cheese purist. No Kraft slices for me, and I have to dip my sandwich in ketchup (sometimes hot sauce).
Just for fun, I thought I would add this zany recipe for a blue cheese and pear sandwich from My Fitness Pal. Enjoy!
- 2 teaspoons honey Dijon mustard
- 2 slices country wheat or whole-wheat bread, divided
- 1/2 ounce (14g) blue cheese, sliced
- 1/2 Anjou pear, cored and sliced
- 1/2 cup (15g) baby arugula leaves
To make…well, assemble all of the ingredients on the bread and grill, easy peasy. For a photo and more recipes head to myfitnesspal.com
