The Vancouver Canucks were hoping to treat the sold out crowd at Prospera Place in Kelowna with a win last night…however they closed out their pre-season with a 4-1 loss to the Arizona Coyotes.
Long time fans in the stands welcomed former Rockets D-Man Alex Elder, now in a Canucks uniform (below). The then 19 year-old rookie from Sweden, had a stint in Kelowna in 05-06 putting up 13 goals and 40 assists.
Nikolay Goldobin was the lone Canuck to score. The Canucks wrapped up exhibition play struggling on offense, scoring just 10 goals over seven games.
The Canucks open the regular season at home Wednesday in Calgary.
