Have you heard of the word hygge? It’s Danish and it was the ‘it’ word for a while in 2016. pronounced hue-gah, it basically means the feeling of cozy contentment and well-being, while enjoying the simple things in life.
It’s safe to say people loved the concept, Pinterest even predicted Hygge would be a hot decor trend in 2017 and it was included in the Collins Word of The Year 2016 edition.
I nearly forgot about about the hygge trend, but now it’s October and people are starting to break out the wool socks and instagram themselves in front of fireplaces and so naturally we need a new ‘it’ word.
Well look no further, and this time…to Scotland. Coorie is the new lifestyle trend that get’s it’s name from the Scottish word for having a cuddle. The author of a new book called ‘The Art of Coorie’ says that it’s more than a single act, it’s a art form.
“Coorie may have started life in Scotland but it’s a philosophy that can be adapted to any country and employed by any nationality.”
So if you are looking at ways to incorporate Coorie into your life, check out Bennett’s book HERE.
