More than 110-thousand dollars was raised at the United Way Drive Through Breakfast, the 20th and final one for organizer Maxine DeHart.
DeHart was brought to tears after a $20,000 donation from the Thomas Alan Budd Foundation, along with an anonymous donation matching all online funds, up to $20,000.
The event has raised 850-thousand dollars over its two decades.
Thursday’s event at the Ramada Hotel sold out at around 8:45 am after 1500 bags were given out to drive thru guests who received handouts and an array of in-kind donations in the bags that included food, coupons and a chance to win one of 300 grand prizes.
All proceeds from the Drive Thru go towards the United Way 2018/2019 Community Campaign that support vulnerable kids, families and seniors in the Central Okanagan.
