A group supporting a change to BC’s electoral system will be holding what it calls a party this weekend in Vernon.
Members of Fair Vote Vernon — who back proportional representation — will hold their event in front of the Post Office Saturday at 2.
“We are celebrating citizen involvement in the BC electoral reform referendum by holding a mail-in ballot party Saturday,” says a news release sent from from the group’s Heather Clay.
Supporters of “prop rep” are encouraged to bring their referendum ballots to the event.
“Bring your ballot (bring empty envelope if you have mailed it already, or just sing!), musical instruments, your voice. Ppractice Yes for Pro Rep song at home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z38piG1JPDk; from Fair Vote Mid-Island.”
The group plans to adjourn to Sir Winston’s Pub for a beer and fellowship after the rally.
BC’s mail in referendum on electoral reform continues until Nov. 30.
