A 7-week old infant already has a sizeable chunk of her college tuition covered, thanks to impeccable timing…
Well, AND thanks to KFC.
Finding that Colonel Sanders’ first name, Harland, had become too unpopular, (BabyCentre.com currently has it pitted at the 5,501 spot), the restaurant franchise issued a simple challenge to parents back in August; be the first to name a child born on the Colonel’s birthday in honor of the KFC founder, and receive $11,000 towards the child’s college education.
Annnnnnd…..we have a recipient.
Born September 9th, weighing just over 8 pounds, baby girl Harland Rose will now receive $1,000 for each of the 11 herbs and spices in the Colonel’s famous chicken recipe. Her parents plan to call her ‘Harley’.
Would you name your kid after Colonel Sanders, even for $11,000? Even if your child was a girl?? Now that I think about it, Harland isn’t THAT bad a name…..
….or is it? ~ Jason
