Let’s face it, the perfect relationship doesn’t exist. But that doesn’t stop couples from making it seem like they’ve got an amazing partnership. A new survey by relationship support charity Relate has revealed some truths about long term relationships.
Half (51%) of millennials make out their relationship is happier than it really is and 42% use social media to give the impression of a ‘perfect relationship’. I know it’s not good to gripe about your issues all over Facebook, but come on! The study also finds that women are more likely to compare their relationship to those of their friends.
And if you have relationship doubts, you’re not alone. The majority of people (74%) think they will stay with their partner for the rest of their lives, some (21%) hope they will but have their doubts.
So don’t worry if you keep seeing lovey dovey photos and post about your friends relationship online, as the saying goes…if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
