Christmas is almost here, I haven’t started my shopping, but I imagine I will spend way too much money on presents. But what if we all decided not to give gifts this year? A new survey from Suntrust found that nearly 7 out of 10 people said they’d like to skip the gift giving tradition this holiday season, but only if their friends and family would agree to it.
The majority of people surveyed said they’d rather give and receive the gift of time, so rather than a new watch…they would like to get together with friends and family. Not only would it get rid of the financial stress that goes along with buying presents, people surveyed said that spending more time with people they care about would make the holidays more meaningful.
So hey, run it past your family this year, save a little cash and make some memories!
